Ralph Lauren horsed around in the Hamptons.
The all-American designer kicked off Spring 2025 New York Fashion Week on Thursday night with a barnburner for some 200 VIPs and celebs at Khalily Stables, a tony Bridgehampton equestrian compound. Enjoying the unbridled glamour were First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Usher, Tom Hiddleston, Jude Law, Kacey Musgraves, H.E.R., Laura Dern and Naomi Watts.
On a grassy field near the paddocks and stalls, the designer built an immaculate white open-air runway pavilion connecting to a recreation of his famed Polo Bar, a monumental construction and decoration effort that took six weeks. The temporary restaurant was appointed with the same clubby leather banquettes, signature green-and-white china, flattering lighting and estate artwork hanging in his midtown hotspot, and served his famous comfort fare. The atmosphere was so convivial that stars like Colman Domingo, Joey King and Andra Day chatted with fashion folk in the brass lantern-lit bar area and roomy dining room, about twice the size of the original.
Lauren showed Collection, Purple Label, Polo Ralph Lauren and Childrenswear on an all-ages cast. Supermodel Christy Turlington, her daughter Grace Burns and nephew James Turlington paraded luxury looks. James’ mom Kelly cheered them from the front row, as friend Naomi Watts playfully urged her to jump up and join her family on the catwalk.
Iconic strutter Naomi Campbell also made two exits wearing shades of white: a baseball cap, jacket and pants and a knotted tee over a pearled evening skirt.
Wearing a pale yellow button-down and trousers, Usher applauded Campbell, his longtime friend. “This is buttery,” the hitmaker said of his outfit. “This is very Limoncello-y in America. It’s Ralph Lauren Purple Label and you’ll see it next year.”
Immaculate ivories – used in natty linen suiting, long prairie skirts and fringed cowboy pants – was another color theme, along with myriad blues. There was plenty of denim, recalling Ralph’s Team USA’s Opening Ceremony uniforms at the Paris Olympics, and sportswear in bold brights.
After the show, a natty Tom Hiddleston told Alexa that he’s a fan of Ralph’s timeless-with-a-twist menswear. “The older I get the more I realize that clothing is part of your expression. There’s nothing like a beautifully made suit,” said the “Loki” star. “The seeming effortlessness of great tailoring I find very inspiring.”
And then he hoofed it into The Polo Bar pop-up, where fun had free rein.
